How accurate are closing costs on the good faith estimate? - good faith estimate writeable

My estimated cost for the closure of my good faith about 6000.00. I spoke with a mortgage broker and told him that the closing costs may be higher or lower if the actual preparation of HUD 1 sheet. Now I'm horrified. How can my closing costs? What costs could be even more? I thought the estimate of good faith is what I would pay in the settlement?
